This is really cool! I can't stop playing it!

I do wish I could see my army's stats though. The only way to know what each sword piece does is by going into the shop and clicking on it (as if I were about to sell it) and it'll say. But once it's been added to a sword in the smith, I can't see what it's done to the sword. The only way to know a sword's stats is entirely by memory.

Really fun game! Love the music, sound design and art. Would love to see some more difficulty scaling, currently the game feels incredibly easy.

(+3)

I made unique swords. Me thinks that would have made them happy.
I could play this for hours just to optimize and have as unique swords as possible. Lots of fun to be had here. Thanks

P.S. You nearly had me rolling on the floor with the appearance of the isekai truck

(+2)

Thankyou so much for playing! Haha the isekai truck cannot be stopped!

PROS: You are a sword, that wants sword to do more swords and        sword your way through swords.
Today I will be a sword even in my dreams.
      Baguette sword is op 69/10.
Game is a bit rigged, as usually RNG is not on my side.
Rolled 2x nat 1 on beggining, then got broke. Almost lost my        will to sword my way through swords, but I kept swording.
Stick sword and sword nothing - Best swords in the game.
I can relate to stick sword. I am one in real life aswell. KEKW

CONS: MUSIC IS MAKING ME DEPRESSED. :'( I feel like oblirater of the        swords because of it. Those swords had family after all.            (but I like it.)
No boss fight. :'( We like those...
No sword waifu............. We like those...

      No ending sadly.

Do not mind the space. I like the Berserk reference.
Is the red katana reference to terraria calamity mode one?

After all 8/10

Judge Mark.

PS: I am not judge.

PS2: or maybe I am?

PS3: KEKW

Boss fights would certainly be cool, I agree! A sword waifu companion would be great! It is okay to end the swords as you use their loot to make them new and better!

Thankyou for the feedback and thanyou for playing! ♥

(+2)

Well time to improve, next time I want to see waifu or riot? It is your destiny now to fulfil this wish of mine X_X

Otherwise great and I enjoyed it, it is fun. xD

The pixel art in this game is beautiful. I love the background, and especially the clouds. The swords also look powerful and awesome! In the sound department, the music helps to give a relaxed feel to the game while the sound effects help with immersion.

Regarding the menus, the mechanics of each one of them is explained well!

The story is emotional, and the sword collecting aspect that follows it is quite interesting! I spent close to an hour fighting and collecting parts, making a sword army that satisfied me. I really liked the fact that we can find parts that already come with beneficial effects, and that we can put an aura on these parts without substituting the effect that came with the piece. Really makes you feel like that sword is  s t a c k e d  up.

The others have said a lot of the things that I'd say, like having floating damage numbers when dealing/receiving a hit, in-game descriptions of effects, among other things. It's interesting to think of things that could be implemented in the future, though. Maybe quests with boss battle-ish sword fights?

Also, I played this game on my phone, and it worked perfectly. This game is really really solid. I enjoyed my sword-collecting experience. Good work!

This is how my collection looked by the end. I'm a big fan of the bread "dagger", myself. It's not very good during battle, though...

(+2)

Loved the intro haha. Fun game! You can't really go wrong with building a collection of swords, who wouldn't want to do that?

(+1)

Thanks <3.

Exactly? Who doesn't want a happy collection of dancing swords! :D

(+2)

Very lovely art-style, everything is quite coherent and in theme. In fact digged the aesthetics overall besides the click sound, that somehow didn't seem to fit there with it's extra crunch, though that may have just been my weird taste.

Game-play was fun, though I would have loved more player interference with it somehow, or more tactics to it, yet still solid work!

Excellent work with it! Love me that baguette sword too in the docs!

(1 edit) (+3)

I did a thing

Uhhh... did I take it too far?

(also it's very funny that you can get empty hilts and blades and downgrade weapons to nothing with them)

(+3)

The almighty katana army! Impressive collection!

(It is quite funny indeed! We should probably have given it some bonus haha)

(+2)

Thats a very powerfull thing indeed!

(Also:)

Soo, dev note on this. The empty parts were just meant to be "make new sword" part and also save data corruption default to prevent the game from crashing. We gave it a rarity of "Infinity" so it would not show up in either the shop or battle, but. When you try "getRandomPartBasedRarity" it caused an infinite loop XD

In a panic we just put the rarity to 1 fixing the game, but causing this hilarious side effect XD

(+3)

I just did the same lol, its kinda addictive.

(+3)

Super simple to understand, fun and addicting replayability!

(+2)

Thankyou for playing!

(+1)

Glad you had fun!

(+3)

Vibey game,  spent half an hour with it trying to get best army.
Loved art and music, about gameplay - well, too sad you can't get info about upgrades/complete sword while assembling army/smithing - so, it's hard to make informed decisions.

Also, I see you've made a lot of cool effects, but currently it's hard to take advantage of them - bigger damage/health seems to always win.

(+1)

Thanks for playing!

Definitely will need more time & testing to find a proper balance between effects, stats & damage. A lot of it rn was "pick a number based on vibes". We did make a wiki, but its not a proper ingame thing yet :P

(+3)

I don't have too much to feedback in this game because I ultimately accidently spent about two hours playing. Lol. I would love to see this as a full game release on steam. The only thing I can think of is that I would like to be able to inspect my swords at least in the army section and it took me a bit to figure out why I couldn't sell certain items or buy more hilts or swords. Still slightly unclear but I kept trucking on and had so much fun. Great job ya'll.

(+3)

Proper indication of errors and stats is something I really want to see added too! the dev crunch was very real and ultimately ran out of time to properly show it everywhere. Still we can look into adding it. :D

Ya'll did such a wonderful job for the time you had. It's so complete feeling already!

(1 edit) (+3)

Cool game , I was not lucky the rng wiped me out and took all my gold , but sword art is nice and building sword mechanics feel fun when you get good rng

(+2)

Ohno I am sorry to hear that rng ran away with your coins! Have you tried playing a new round?

(+2)

Classic RNGEEZUS :P Luckily you can easily reset the gamestate. :)

(+3)

full breadstick achieved. it's tough as steel.

the ui is solid in general. i was a little stuck at first though. when the intro was over, i couldn't figure out what to do next because the quest board looks like it has empty pieces of paper. i clicked many things before i figured out that i need to accept quest, and then exit, and then click battle. i wish accepting quest started the battle immediately.

as it was pointed out, seeing the stats of your army and parts could be nice as well. i think some currency balancing might be good as well, because on my first try i just built 5 katanas and kept winning everything x)

i think it's pretty neat that it was built without an engine.

music is nice (i've been listening to it for half an hour now), sfx work well and feel very organic.

art is very pretty.

there's some room to grow, so i hope you can expand it and add a few more story bits, because currently it feels like there's no endgame. except for the bread army maybe xD

(+2)

Bread for the mods! Haha.

Some crunching happend in tying everything together in the end,

We released a spreadsheet for all the part stats but in general we need to get it to be properly in the game everywhere and not just the shop

Gotten some feedback to streamline some of the UI further :D Will see if we are able to get to it though!

I let our musician Ethan know you liked the music & sfx <3

Thing I really wanted to add was the ability to import other people's armies as quests and export your own, similar to some older offline streetpass encounters on the 3ds,

Thanks for playing!

(+3)

love this game

(+2)

Yes!! Baguettes assemble! <3

(+2)

Hahaha that is amazing! One big baguette army!!! Impressive work!!

(+3)

Very neat! Shame i never saw my dream of an all-bread army.
+ Rock solid gameplay loop
+ Lots of attention paid to the UI & art
+ hehehehe sord go brr
- The UI gets a little overlarge at times, hiding the "exit" button. I also wish i could compare stats on gear & my team more easily.
- The satisfying gameplay loop is sadly lacking in depth
- I would definitely like to have more of this game to experience.

(+3)

Good to read all the "-" is something thats fixable. :D

UI overflow in some parts is something that happend on itch when uploading, if we go straight into the embed it fixes itself. So I think the upload corrupted a file slightly.

Thanks for playing :)

(+3)

Thankyou so much for playing and the nice feedback! sword go brrr..ead? ...

ill show myself out

(+3)(-1)

I like a lot about this game. The sword designs are awesome and it has a chill vibe. As you work on it, I'd consider making it a bit more structured. I feel like I got too powerful too quickly - an overworld may help with this? Also, I feel the flow of going back to the board, accepting a quest, then having to exit the board to do the quest is cumbersome. Just let me fight!

(+2)

Thanks for playing!

We wanted to make sure in a short play-session someone is able to see and try quite a bit, but with some good part RNG you can get OP really fast yes XD

Could you elaborate what you mean with "an overworld"?

Also if you have any suggestions to streamline the "UI loop" feel free to tell. :)

(+3)

Copied from Google: An overworld or a hub world is, in a broad sense, an area within a video game that interconnects all its levels or locations. They are mostly common in role-playing games, though this does not exclude other video game genres, such as some platformers and strategy games.

For the UI loop, just let me click on a quest and let me do it right away please

(+2)

you know what that makes a lot of sense, to be able to accept and be put into the quest!

(+2)

Thanks so much for playing and providing feedback!

(+3)

Love it. Super chill game. "My swords are Better than your swords". I really like all the different ways you can modify the swords. Good art style and detail. Love the swords dancing in the "main menu". Music fits the vibes well. Think the thing I would love is a tool tip in the menu where you could see the stats of the swords and some damage numbers so my monkey brain creates those feel good juices.

(+2)

Thanks for playing! <3

We crunched a lot but in the end couldn't get stat displays to show fully, oh well... :) Update maybe :o?

Lili did make a spreadsheet where everything is written but I know its not the same as seeing live numbers in the menu's.

(+3)

Oh nice! So many weapon parts. Again nice entry y'all. JS ftw

(+3)

Thankyou so much for playing! I was a fan of the dancing swords aswell haha maybe it should have been a powermove? A more advanced tooltip would be great! there is some info in the shop but providing exta info for people who want more detail is always nice!

(+5)

You can find all our parts in a Wiki!

(+2)

all the swords! and the magic!
